You may have some questions...
How can I be sure psychotherapy is right for me?
When you get in touch with me we will arrange an initial meeting where you will have the opportunity to let me know how things are for you at the moment, your thoughts about therapy and what you are hoping to achieve. I will explain more about my approach and answer any questions you may have about psychotherapy.
What will therapy be like?
Therapy aims to be a supportive and helpful experience but at times it can also be challenging and upsetting especially when we explore areas of your life which are painful for you. My role is to maintain a healthy, supportive and non-judgemental space where you feel safe to talk with me about issues which you find troubling. In time you are likely to find that in opening up and observing your emotions in therapy with me you will develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships with those around you.
How long will it take?
We will agree to meet at the same time and day each week. Each session will be for 50 minutes and the arrangement will be open ended until we work towards an agreed ending date. Psychotherapy aims to bring you to a deeper understanding of yourself and build self-awareness and confidence that will help you to navigate through the ups and downs of life. This can take many months but we will work at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
How much will it cost?
My standard fee for each weekly session is £65. In some circumstances this can be negotiable, please ask me.
I offer a reduced rate for students and to people who are on a very low wage or unemployed.
Where will we meet?
I offer sessions in person and also remotely via 'phone or Zoom. All necessary arrangements and adaptions have been made in the building premises, and the consulting room, to minimise the risk of coronavirus transmission.
My practice is in Marshalsea Road, a two minute walk from Borough underground station (Bank branch of the Northern Line) or a ten minute walk from London Bridge mainline station. Marshalsea Road is also served by London bus routes 35,40,133 & 343.
I also see clients at a counselling service in West Sussex. If this may be more convenient for you please contact me for information.
What about confidentiality?
Confidentiality is at the core of the therapeutic relationship. It's important that you feel secure in knowing anything you discuss in your therapy session will not be shared. This extends to how I capture, use and store any personal or sensitive information. For more information please read my privacy policy.
What's the next step?
As a first step please use the contact form, using the button on the right hand side of this page, and get in touch. I will then contact you to arrange a telephone call to discuss your situation and what you are looking for from therapy and you can ask me any questions you may have. During this conversation we will make arrangements for an introductory session.
I look forward to hearing from you.
